Affordable World provide the highest quality tours at an affordable price. They are a family-run business who strive to create unique travel experiences for the adventurous traveller, using exceptional local knowledge of each destination.

Affordable World approached Orangery with a goal of redesigning their brand, website and booking system to better showcase their tours, reflect their core values and appeal to the younger, traveller demographic. They wanted the website created with a view to re-skinning the design across the other two brands in the Affordable World family, Ritz Tours and Peony Tours, each appealing to their individual demographics.

Inspiring your inner traveller

Affordable World specialises in creating unforgettable journeys to Thailand, Greece, Japan, China and beyond. They offer escorted tours to suit each traveler’s unique style and budget. Their trips are ideal for independent travellers who enjoy the benefits of booking a package while still customising their holiday.

Aimed at the younger, more adventurous independent traveler, the brand and website needed to reflect this. We achieved this with a fresh colour palette, scrapbook graphic language and brush stroke typography, alongside a clear and functional user experience. The customisable element to their packages was made much clearer within the user experience with prominent signposts for adding optional tours, upgrading travel and accommodation, and extending trips. As well as the main website, we also created the user experience and UI for the booking system and My Affordable World account section.

Designing for the Chinese market

Peony Tours is the Asian arm of Affordable World. It is aimed at Chinese speakers, since tours are conducted in Mandarin, and will take you around the world from Asia to Europe to Australia and beyond. The brand and website needed its own look and feel that appealed to the Asian market, yet still following the same website structure as Affordable World. We used a colour palette of red and blue, with rich, treated imagery, to achieve this. The website design also needed to work in English and Chinese.

Tailoring the perfect travel experience

Ritz Tours is the more exclusive branch of this travel group, offering unique, tailor-made trips, appealing to a slightly older demographic looking for that luxury travel experience, yet still at an affordable price. The brand and website needed to reflect this, evoking a luxurious and high-end feel with a big steer towards the more personal, bespoke tailor-made experience.
