A NEW Brand Strategy
<h2>Brand evolution</h2>
Armourcoat’s natural brand evolution catered for a heightened focus on sustainable development throughout the industry and a shift in client expectations. The goal was for the brand to communicate its commitment to this change of attitudes, reaffirming its place as a pioneer in the sector.
<h2>Strategy planning</h2>
We developed a strategic plan that continued to leverage their heritage but with an increased spotlight on sustainability. As a brand in a place of power, this was the perfect opportunity to help shape the wider sector, deepen existing client relationships and welcome new customers to the brand.
<h2>Positioning workshops</h2>
By involving multiple specialists throughout our agency and the client’s business, we built a clear picture of competitors, trends and markets. Through interviews with staff, distributors, customers and media, we were able to lead a series of effective positioning workshops.

BREATHING NEW LIFE INTO LUXURY
<h2 class="intro-copy">Design System</h2>
Armed with a clear brand strategy, we evolved the visual identity to reflect the new vision and values of Armourcoat. A flexible design system allowed us to easily and efficiently apply the refreshed brand across its broad range of touchpoints.
<h2 class="intro-copy">Colour Palette</h2>
The refined logo carries a simple descriptor that establishes clarity around the brand’s purpose. New lighter and darker shades of green bring depth to the colour palette and introduce a deeper sense of luxury. Champagne tones and greys brought a calm and grounding secondary palette.
<h2 class="intro-copy">Photography</h2>
Some essential extras included moodboards to help influence future photographers’ approaches to brand imagery, as well as specific designs and functional graphic elements for business cards, brochures, packaging and specification sheets, all of which use recycled and recyclable paper stock.

A SUSTAINABLE DESTINATION
To ensure consistency with the sustainability values of the Armourcoat brand, we moved away from traditional PDF brand guidelines – which have a tendency to be printed out. Instead, we delivered an online solution that sits in the ‘brand hub’ on green hosting, acting as a portal for all branding assets, from logos and icons to a library of template files for press and documentation.

ONLINE PRESENCE
A new, user-centric website made it easier for designers to switch between colours and finishes and order samples through the new and improved shopping cart. The new website has been met with positive feedback from Armourcoat customers with a significant increase in sample orders.

BRAND AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
We developed the striking brand awareness campaign, “Inspired by nature”, which showcases the natural and sustainable aspects of the products, using beautiful, bold images of nature that have inspired the Armourcoat ranges. We highlight the product with a simple swatch – a motif that customers are used to but with a modern touch: a QR code for users to find out more online.

A TRULY SUSTAINABLE REBRAND
The brand and website launch coincided with the 2023 Surface Design Show, where Armourcoat showcased its complete range of sustainable finishes and its new visual identity. The reinvigorated brand was a resounding success and exceptionally well received by internal and external audiences, setting Armourcoat on the path to a truly sustainable future.
